S&P 500 Day Trading Course Gap for June 18, 2009 Learn How to Trade

Open today was 906.50, just 5 ticks down from yesterday's close. We traded to our low of 899.25just before 11am market time, then turned and headed 15 points up to today's high of 914.25 by about 2:30. Today's close came in at 906.25, 1 tick down from open giving us pretty much no direction for our day. Our gap of 907.75 was filled and our range was 15 points.

S&P 500 Day Trading Course Gap for June 17, 2009 Learn How to Trade

Another day on the red side today. We opened at 923.50 today and pretty much headed down from there. Our high came in at 924.00 which we hit within two min of open, while we yielded an intraday low of 905.50. Close came to us today at 907.75 after seeing a 18.50 point range.

Our gap of 920.00 from yesterday was filled, but the gap from June 12 of 942.25 still remains open.

S&P 500 Day Trading Course Gap for June 16, 2009 Learn How to Trade

Trading opened today at 930.50 and within the first minute we had reached our high of 931.50 for today. Trading down from there we reached an intraday low of 915.25, and closed the day at 920.00. We traded in a 16.25 point range today and left our 942.25 gap from Friday unfilled.

S&P 500 Day Trading Course Gap for June 15, 2009 Learn How to Trade

Trading opened today at 935.00, 5 points down from yesterday's close. We took a quick run to our low of 931.25 and headed back up from there. We hit our high of 942.50 around 2:45pm market time, consolidated from 2:45 to about 3:30 then ended off the trading day with today's close coming in at 942.25. Our trading range today was 11.25 points, our gap at 940.00 was filled.

Today marks two weeks that we have been stuck in this consolidation between 947 and 925, breaking out a few times but every time getting sucked back into the channel. Watch for the breakout, when we finally do get it be ready! The cork is bound to POP sometime.

S&P 500 Day Trading Course Gap for June 12, 2009 Learn How to Trade

Today was the first day that we were able to switch to trading the ES09-09's. I chose to trade 09-09 today so beware that these are the numbers that I am using today.

Open today was 937.25 as was our low. From open we headed up today consolidating in the 941-945.50 from about 9:50 to about 12:50. From this point we continued up to our intraday high at 952.75 around 3:30, then managed to get sucked back yet again into our 11 day channel before close to end our day back at 940.00.

Our range today was 15.5 points, while the gap was at 939.00 which was filled shortly after close.

S&P 500 Going Nowhere Fast

Does anyone else feel this train slowing down? Up up up up up up up ???--- since June 1, I for one haven't seen any direction. Up and down, back and forth....947, 925, 947, 925. Close for June 1st 942.75, what was today's close again? oh yeah, 941.75! Anybody else feel like banging their head against a wall??

So the next question, "What happens now??" Who the heck knows? If you have a crystal ball please share it with me!!! But I think my shorting bias may come in handy again in the not so distant future. It may not, only time will tell. But market makers, if you are out there? let's get this thing moving. I need some solid action!
